Recently, it might seem like Bella Hadid has gone quiet. After opening up about her battle with Lyme’s disease, the supermodel who, just a few seasons ago, was a staple on the New York, London, Milan, and Paris runways seems to have disappeared from the limelight. As the fashion industry patiently awaits her comeback, Hadid has teased her loyal Instagram followers with an unexpected venture – a beauty brand.
Last week, Hadid dropped a vague, cryptic video to her Instagram page teasing what appears to be a beauty brand. The video features a close-up of the supermodel’s face edited with glimpses of the ocean and a field, giving us no further clues as to what the actual product offering of the brand might be. “Ôrəbella founded by Bella Khair Hadid. Reveal your alchemy on 5/02,” reads the caption of the post, which has since sent the internet into a frenzy, speculating Hadid’s product offering.
Well, all clues point to a beauty brand, a fragrance brand, to be specific. What makes us so sure, you ask? Well, before dropping the Orebella teaser, Hadid posted a series of images at what appears to be Ulta Beauty‘s office with no caption or any further clues. In hindsight, fans have taken this to be a confirmation that Orebella is, indeed, a beauty brand and will launch exclusively with Ulta.
That’s not all; Hadid also posted an Instagram story of what seems to be a perfume bottle. “Created by Pasha Mahmoud Hadid” reads the top of the perfume bottle, which also features the words “Oasis of Love” at the bottom.
Now, we do know that the Palestinian-Dutch supermodel had an uncle named Mahmoud Hadid, making us wonder whether he’s the mastermind behind the scents. Also, given the cultural significance of fragrance in the Middle East, we can’t help but wonder whether Hadid’s Middle Eastern heritage inspires Orebella.
Well, only time will tell. Can we skip to May 5, please?
