Joy. I believe beauty is an inside-and-out job. How we feel about ourselves and how we talk to ourselves matters. So I always speak to myself kindly and put joy into my skincare ritual, my makeup experimentation, and my very, very generous fragrance spraying.

Marilyn Monroe. I would totally snag that eyeliner and the original Chanel ‘No. 5’ perfume.

I tried a fringe. It didn’t work. In fact, I believe it never, ever works.

In Casablanca, with my sister. Post-hammam, where we are cleansed head to toe, physically and emotionally, then drenched and glowing in amber-scented face and body oils. Cozy cashmere pajamas in the winter or breathable cotton ones in the summer. Talking late into the night, sipping Moroccan mint tea, eating melloui, a Moroccan pancake. Listening to the most eclectic mix of North African music, old and new.
