Taking to Instagram, actress Yara Shahidi gave her 4.2 million fans a look at her raw makeup-free skin, and the image is inspiring many.
“Happy Sunday from me and my skin that I’ve committed to love in every and all states,” captioned the actress and activist under the pair of smiley photos featuring her untouched complexion, complete with blemishes and all. “With travel + work + 24/7 in makeup I have to actively remind myself to not sweat the details (aka the blemishes) and reframe it as a reminder to make sure I’m taking care of myself.”
Immediately after posting, fans thanked the Grown-ish star for her transparency, the images receiving over 400,000 likes for their empowering message on self love and acceptance.
This isn’t the first time though that Yara skips her makeup routine and bares it publicly on social media; the 19-year-old’s Instagram is full of relatable au-naturale shots of the star without a trace of eyeliner or a smidgen of lipstick. She recently rocked a fresh face and cute pigtail buns earlier this month, encouraging fans to go out and vote.
