Logo nails are in and you have Chanel to thank

How to nail the look
This Métiers d’Art, Chanel served up major nail art and it’s all we want on our talons…

Every December since 2002, Chanel puts on a spectacular Métiers d’Art show, a small tribute from the French maison to the specialist workshops that help create its collections; from embroiderer Lesage and shoemaker Massaro to feather and flower expert Lemarié as well as hatter and milliner Maison Michel.

This year’s rendition was an even bigger celebration as the show returned to Paris after decamping to Hamburg and then New York for the past two years. It also marked Virginie Viard’s first Métiers d’Art collection following Karl Lagerfeld’s passing in February. And while all eyes were fixed on the fabulous clothes, the beautiful celebrities in the FROW (Lily-Rose Depp and Pénelope Cruz attended), and the even more fabulous girls that walked the runway (from Kaia Gerber to Gigi Hadid), it was the tiny little details on their pretty manicured fingers that caught everybody’s eye.

Created by nail artist extraordinaire Jenny Longworth, nails were dressed up in the instantly recognisable double C logo some on a pearly sheer base while others on the brand’s iconic Vamp nail polish. The standout design mirrored the show’s inspiration which was to honour the Chanel codes; everything from the ornaments to the set itself could have been plucked from Coco Chanel’s art deco apartment. So the faux nails, with their double C stamp, were the perfect witty beauty nod to the house’s classic codes.
