The worlds of sports and fashion have been colliding frequently in the recent past. If there’s one sport that best bridges these seemingly separate spheres, it’s undoubtedly Formula 1. From brand sponsorships and trackside glamour to glittering nights out at Cannes and the Met Gala, F1 racers—and their wardrobes—are no strangers to the fashion spotlight. Last night, the F1 family swapped the paddock for the red carpet, as drivers, team principals, and WAGs flocked to New York for the F1 movie premiere.
While speed might be their forte, the F1 crowd certainly knows how to put up a sartorial show. As always, Lewis Hamilton stole the spotlight in a salmon suit jacket with a goat-head-shaped brooch pinned to his chest. Talk about making a statement! Hamilton’s former teammate, Mercedes driver George Russell and Brad Pitt both showed up in salmon shirts worn underneath black suits, while best buds Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz Jr. twinned in navy blue suits.
Pitt’s co-star and onscreen teammate Damson Idris opted for a dark grey suit. Charles Leclerc chose a beige suit as he posed alongside his girlfriend Alexandra Saint Mleux who walked the red carpet in a black Saint Laurent slip dress. Formula 1 driver Alex Albon‘s girlfriend Lily Muni made a head-turning entrance in a red drop waist maxi dress.
