If you thought Lewis Hamilton only flexed on the racetrack, think again. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion has been a front-row fixture at Fashion Week, a style icon, and Dior‘s ambassador since 2024. As a part of his partnership with the French Maison, Hamilton has designed a capsule, launching July 3. The high-octane, print-heavy capsule explores Afrofuturism.
This isn’t Hamilton’s first fashion rodeo, but it may be his most personal. The collection is a love letter to Black culture, sustainability, and sartorial expression. Inspired by travels across Morocco, Senegal, Mozambique, Benin, and Madagascar, the collection channels more than just global aesthetics. Hamilton imagines a future where Black culture is the main character, and he styles the wardrobe. “Afrofuturism felt like the perfect lens to express this collection,” he explained in a press statement.

The collection is peak Hamilton: big silhouettes, bold prints, and just enough moto-adjacent grit to remind you who’s behind the wheel (pun intended). Think leopard-print tweed (yes, tweed), sleeveless knits, roomy tailoring, and chunky velvet work boots. Bucket hats and short jackets nod to Dior’s archives, while Hamilton’s thumbprint is all over the styling. And yes, there are sneakers. The ‘B44’s come in gradients and metallics.
Hamilton’s been showing up in Dior at races for a while now—São Paulo, Vegas, Abu Dhabi—and each time, he looked like he was about to outrun the clothes off everyone else. But this new collection feels like more than just a flex. Its identity, history, and futurism are all sewn together with French finesse.
