Adidas Originals just flipped the script on sneaker culture with a drop that doesn’t just look good but also means something. Say hello to ‘The Loomhood’ collection: a limited-edition release that brings the soul of Dubai, Riyadh, and Cairo straight to your closet. It’s a deep dive into heritage, storytelling, and the artistry of local communities across the region, all stitched together into two of Adidas’ most iconic silhouettes: the ‘Samba OG’ and ‘Handball Spezial.’

What makes ‘The Loomhood’ collection stand out? Every element, from the stitching to the laces, carries the DNA of artisans who’ve spent decades mastering their craft. We’re talking real people, real neighborhoods, and real history.
AL FAHIDI, DUBAI

Here, tailoring is a legacy. With roots stretching back generations, Al Fahidi’s tailoring community brings a refined precision that speaks to the UAE’s Year of Community. Adidas teamed up with Dream Girl Tailors, a family-run business that’s been around for over 40 years, to weave this spirit directly into the drop.
DIRIYAH, RIYADH

Known for its earthy textures and geometric patterns, Diriyah is the heart of Saudi Arabia’s Sadu weaving tradition. In step with the country’s Year of Handicrafts and Vision 2030, this collection honors the timeless skills of women like Rashidah, a master Sadu weaver with more than 30 years of experience.
EL KHAYAMIYA, CAIRO

Nestled in the fabric-filled souks of old Cairo, El-Khayamiya is all about vivid appliqué art. Here, the fabric turns into legacy, and this collection pays homage to Mohsen Shaaban, a Khayamiya artist who’s kept the craft alive for over five decades.
The ‘Loomhood’ collection brings custom designs that actually matter. Each lace style is inspired by traditional textile art from the region.

Talli (UAE): Delicate, metallic, and meticulously woven, this lace draws from the historic art of Talli, giving every step a glimmer of tradition.

Sadu (Saudi Arabia): With rich earth tones and intricate symmetry, this lace pattern echoes Bedouin storytelling through threads.

Khayamiya (Egypt): Vibrant, swirling, and bold, this lace captures the spirit of Egyptian streetscapes and fabric-filled alleys.
These weren’t made in a vacuum either. Dr. Reem Tariq El Mutwalli, founder of The Zay Initiative, ensured every design stayed true to its roots.
Before the full retail launch, sneakerheads in Dubai get first dibs at an exclusive two-day pop-up on April 19–20 at Dream Girls Tailor, Al Fahidi.
