One hundred years ago, in 1925, Fendi began as a small Roman fur and leather workshop. Fast forward a century, and the name is synonymous with luxury, craftsmanship, and some of the most iconic handbags ever created. To mark this milestone, the house is celebrating beyond the runway by taking over Milan’s most storied bookstores and newsstands with a literary showcase that blends fashion, culture, and history.

Timed perfectly with its Fall/Winter 2025 show, this week-long activation (February 24 – March 2) transforms Milan’s historic bookstores and newsstands into Fendi-branded cultural hubs. The centerpiece? Two special-edition books—Fendi Baguette Hand in Hand and Fendi Peekaboo-k—that dive deep into the brand’s legacy, craftsmanship, and enduring influence. And because no milestone is complete without a personal touch, Silvia Venturini Fendi has autographed select copies for collectors who want to own a piece of fashion history.

As for the books? They are deep, beautifully crafted tributes to Fendi’s two most legendary handbags.
FENDI BAGUETTE HAND IN HAND
Originally published for the ‘Baguette’’s 25th anniversary, this book is a celebration of Italian artisanship. It showcases 40 master craftsmen who have reinterpreted the ‘Baguette’ bag using rare techniques—think intricate lacework, mosaic artistry, and hand-chiseled marble. The book also features striking imagery by Lorenzo Vitturi, who blends photography with sculpture to highlight these one-of-a-kind pieces.
FENDI PEEKABOO-K
Fifteen years after Silvia Venturini Fendi introduced the ‘Peekaboo,’ this book tells the story of its evolution. Featuring 80 archival bags, it’s divided into four sections, each introduced by a different creative powerhouse: Sophie Fontanel, Kengo Kuma, Chloe Bailey, and Naomi Watts. It also includes a roundtable conversation between three generations of the Fendi family—Silvia, Delfina Delettrez, and Leonetta Luciano Fendi—offering an intimate look at the brand’s creative legacy.

Fendi has carefully chosen locations that reflect its creative DNA. Here’s where you can find the takeover:
- Hoepli (Via Ulrico Hoepli): A historic bookstore near the Duomo, known for its technical and creative publications.
- Libreria Bocca (Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II): Founded in 1775, this legendary bookstore is a go-to for art and fashion publications.
- Edicola Largo Treves (Brera Design District): A reimagined newsstand-slash-creative space, perfect for Fendi’s pop-up moment.
- ADI Museum Bookshop: Inside the ADI Design Museum, catering to design and innovation enthusiasts.
- Edicola Civic Portanuova: A sleek, modern newsstand in Milan’s forward-thinking district, known for pop-ups and community events.
