Elevate your senses with Arts AlUla’s unveiling of six dynamic Artist Residency Programs happening till October 2024. This season, witness the convergence of past and present, inviting global artists to contribute to AlUla’s ongoing narrative.
Partnering with the French Agency for AlUla Development (Afalula), Arts AlUla introduces a series of transformative programs, including Visual Arts, Design, Botany, Agriculture, Heritage, Innovation, and Long-Term Residencies. From October 2023 to February 2024, seven artists explore the intersection of art, science, and local narratives in the Visual Art Residency, culminating in an exhibition at the Arts Festival in February 2024.
Simultaneously, the Design Residency, hosting five designers until February 2024, delves into infrastructure development, architectural design, and sustainability. Their discoveries and prototypes come to life at the Arts Festival exhibition.
In January 2024, the Arts, Landscaping, Botany, and Agriculture Residency unfolds, bringing together six international artists to lay the groundwork for AlUla’s future contemporary art museum. Celebrating nature’s canvas, they delve into botanical diversity and research public art commissions.
Come May 2024, the Heritage and Innovation Residency, with six artists, explores the fusion of art and digital technology, weaving together the past and future of AlUla’s rich history. Emphasizing research over production, this program envisions an imagined future through open studio reflections.
Introducing Long-Term Residencies from December 2023, offering precious time for three artists worldwide to call AlUla home for over a year. The selected creatives embark on research, creation, and production, contributing to ambitious projects and nurturing AlUla’s cultural assets.
In April 2024, the Alumni Circle for Artists takes center stage, fostering a lasting connection with artists from past residencies. This annual symposium becomes a dialogue forum, ensuring continuous growth and collaboration among artists, solidifying AlUla as a thriving artistic ecosystem.
