Just last week, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode confirmed that Fashion Week will indeed go on in Paris with a slew of shows slated for September.
Now, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has announced that Fashion Week will too, proceed in New York, however, the schedule isn’t quite as long as it used to be.
The CFDA has cut back the number of days designated for the Spring shows to three, running from September 14-16. According to WWD, there’s an option to expand into September 17 if there’s enough demand. An official statement from the CFDA has also announced that the shortened calendar will be for the September shows only.
Whilst two of the calendar’s heavy hitters, Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs, have announced that they will not showing in September, we’re left to wonder who will be taking their Spring ’21 designs to the runway this fall. We’ll just have to wait and find out.
