Chanel lovers listen up — the the luxury French brand is teaming up with renowned fine art and luxury dealer, Sotheby’s, on an online auction and you can take part in it! Yes, very seldom one gets the chance to participate in a private auction, usually reserved for industry insiders and avid collectors, but Chanel is making it possible.
From November 29th to December 5th, fans will be able to bid on a curated selection of 177 designs on a web-based public sale organised by Sotheby’s.
The items, part of an expansive assortment owned by an undisclosed Italian admirer of the brand, include everything from handbags and dresses to jewellery as well as accessories. The extensive list features several one-of-a-kind pieces such as a shearling “Pop Art” patchwork bag from Chanel’s Autumn 2014 season, a pearl-embellished pair of sunglasses and a gold logo chain belt from the from the Cruise 2018 line.
For those wishing to get a sneak peak at the pieces on sale before bidding on them online, Sotheby’s is hosting an exhibition at Milan’s Palazzo Serbelloni, running December 3-4.
There’s also a Chanel exhibition in collaboration with creative polymath Jean-Paul Goude at the Palazzo Giureconsulti building in Milan, open until December 31, which celebrates the 30-year creative partnership between the luxury maison and artist.
