Maria Grazia Chiuri knows how to deliver a stunning runway experience. Last season, she had horses storm the catwalk and this season, she opted to include a dance performance as part of the show. A moving visual feast, Dior‘s S/S ’19 show celebrated the power of dance, and as such, the collection reflected the ease and elegance of dancers, with the models appearing as though they were dancers on their days off or leaving a rehearsal or about to perform. As a result the collection was beautifully minimalist with a certain practicality not often seen in high fashion. As with all of her creations, the pieces for this season were elegantly ladylike with knee-skimming dresses finished in tulle, flowing gowns with expertly placed embellishments and belted blazers over midi skirts all leaving us swooning.

Accessories were a highlight this season, too. The iconic Saddle Bag was back for another season in new prints and fabrics, and that Christian Dior tote you’ve seen all over your Instagram feed has been reimagined into a backpack for spring/summer.
Plus, headbands are back. Models were seen sporting slicked hair adorned with logo’d headwear that is both practical and seriously pretty. On the shoes front, given the inspiration, ballet flats with ribbon detailing abounded (there were heels in this silhouette, too) with both open-toe and closed-toe varieties spotted on the models throughout the show.
