In a sizzling episode of #HotSauceHOTBOSS, BURO teams up, once again, with TABASCO® Sauce to welcome none other than Chef Sara Aqel, the innovative Palestinian-Jordanian culinary star, to the heat‑test kitchen. Spoiler alert: when Sara tasted TABASCO® Sauce… it was with mansaf. Yes, really. And yes, it worked
Sara Aqel isn’t just any chef. Raised in Jordan by Palestinian roots, she brings a heartfelt Levantine sensibility to everything she cooks. Growing up, food was the centrepiece of her family life, big feasts, full tables, laughter, and most importantly, care. She trained abroad, sharpened her skills in international kitchens, and eventually returned home to share her culinary vision. So when she steps into the #HotSauceHOTBOSS set, she’s not just a guest, she’s carrying a legacy.
On the show, she reveals that one of the spiciest highs of her career is happening on our set. Why? Because she’s tackling heat challenges live: guessing ingredients, testing her spice endurance, improvising with fiery sauces, all in front of cameras. For someone whose craft revolves around balance and subtlety, this is a delicious (and slightly mischievous) risk.
At one point, the host tests her pop-culture heat control: “Do you think you can continue the lyrics of ‘It’s Getting Hot in Here’?” (Yes, the Nelly song.) Sara laughs, wipes her brow dramatically, and manages a pretty solid attempt, showcasing more spice than a shy kitchen rookie, but with her signature humor intact.
And here’s a fun pop quiz: “Do you know in how many countries TABASCO® Brand is sold today?” Sara takes a thoughtful pause, then makes her guess. The real answer? Over 195 countries and territories. A bold global footprint, fitting for a brand that’s become a universal symbol of spice.
