In the ever-evolving tapestry of time, it’s been fourteen years since Hublot and Depeche Mode embarked on their inaugural collaboration, a shared journey fueled by a passion for social responsibility and a commitment to environmental and humanitarian causes. Since that inaugural venture, with each subsequent beat of Depeche Mode’s touring rhythm, this alliance has crescendoed, orchestrating over USD $2.3 million in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust and Charity: Water.
Fast forward to Berlin, where the symphony of their collaboration echoed anew, eleven years after its inaugural chord struck in the same vibrant city. Here, amidst the pulsating energy of the German capital, Hublot and Depeche Mode unveiled their latest horological masterpiece: The Spirit of Big Bang Depeche Mode. Embracing the iconic tonneau shape of the Spirit of Big Bang, it’s enrobed in Hublot’s timeless All Black aesthetic.
Crafted in harmony with Depeche Mode’s creative ethos, the design intricately weaves together symbolic elements—a skull motif, reminiscent of the band’s iconic imagery, and an hourglass, evoking the ceaseless passage of time. At the heart of the dial, a mesmerizing dance unfolds, as tiny black ceramic spheres ebb and flow with the wearer’s every movement, a poignant reminder of life’s transient nature, captured in the concept of Memento Mori.
