Its here another highly-anticipated Fall/Winter 2024 collaboration between adidas Originals and Wales Bonner! This dynamic duo is back with another electrifying collection, this time paying homage to the roots of Hip-Hop culture.
Wales Bonner’s signature fusion of British subculture, Caribbean influences, and the global African diaspora breathes new life into adidas’s classic silhouettes. The upcoming collection is a vibrant tapestry of retro-tinged streetwear essentials and reimagined footwear, all inspired by the home of Hip-Hop.
Footwear takes centre stage with fresh iterations of the iconic Superstar and the sell-out Samba. The Samba models are embossed with a crocodile texture, offering a fresh twist on a classic. Offered in a warm toffee colourway and a deep indigo colorway.
Continuing their collaboration beyond the Samba, adidas and the duo have delved into adidas extensive archives to revive the Samba MN from 2009. For this release, they are introducing it in two fresh colorways: ‘Silver Metallic’ and ‘St Fade Gold.’
The Superstar model receives an elevated update, released in ‘Wonder White,’ colorway this design showcases crocodile-inspired leather and is beautifully complemented by the Wales Bonner logo in gold on the side.
The apparel lineup is a nod to the 1970s, echoing the fashion of Hip-Hop’s forefathers. Groovy floral prints adorn shorts, tanks, and cropped polo shirts, while solid-colored tracksuits in vibrant hues bring a nostalgic vibe to the collection. Departing from the minimalist trend, the adidas logo is enlarged on graphic tees, jackets, and hoodies, embracing a more retro aesthetic.
The campaign, shot by the talented Rennell Medrano in the historic neighborhood of Harlem, is a celebration of the poetry and beauty of New York City. Featuring unique personalities like professional skaters Carlisle Aikens and Kader Sylla, the campaign captures the spirit of the collection and the city that inspired it.
The Wales Bonner x adidas Originals FW24 collection will be globally available on October 24 at adidas’s web store, via the CONFIRMED app, and select retailers. Get ready to immerse yourself in this captivating fusion of heritage, streetwear, and the vibrant energy of Hip-Hop culture!
