Alexandre Vauthier and Giuseppe Zanotti: could you name a more powerful duo in the luxury sphere? A partnership that stems from precision, craftsmanship and a similar vision (whether it’s their loyal clientele or of the brand’s woman), two legendary designers have joined forces to design, produce and distribute an entirely new shoe collection.
For Fall/Winter 2021, the inaugural collection will be compromised of around 90 signature styles — think evening sandals and platforms, daytime flats, booties and biker boots — evoking the spirit of Parisian nights from the 70s and 80s as it draws inspiration from Vauthier’s runway and brand DNA: modern, confident and feminine.
“For this collaboration, I wanted to create a very distinctive selection of footwear that felt like a natural extension of my collection and also which complements the confident personalities of the Alexandre Vauthier woman,” explains the French designer. “The women who wear my collections around the world are both sensual and powerful and this collaboration with Giuseppe Zanotti was made for these bold and inspiring women.”
The footwear maestro agreed that both designers have the same vision. “Working with Alexandre has felt very natural; right from the beginning. I’ve realized we speak to the same woman with our work and I believe you’ll see this energy running from the clothes to the shoes and vice versa,” Zanotti concluded.
The duo’s new licensing agreement sparks an exciting new link between the French fashion designer recognised mostly for his rock-n-roll glamour, and that of a legendary footwear designer whose modern elegance is captured through signature jewelled, sculptural heels and fashion forward sneakers.
The pre-collection will officially land on shelves from May 2021.
