If you’ve binge-watched Ozark and Inventing Anna, then you’re probably familiar with Julia Garner’s brilliance. The actress is bound to add yet another major project to her resume as she’s being eyed to play Madonna in the pop icon’s upcoming biopic, Variety reports.
Chosen amongst a dozen candidates which reportedly included Florence Pugh, Alexa Demie, Sky Ferreira, and Bebe Rexha, Garner emerged as a frontrunner in the casting process and with Madonna set to direct the film, we know she wouldn’t have chosen anything less. With a script co-written with Erin Cressida Wilson, the untitled film culminates with Madonna’s 1990 Blonde Ambition tour and will require multiple dancing and singing sequences.
Whilst Garner’s team haven’t officially confirmed her new role, it is said they are reviewing the offer and are expected to accept. Stay tuned!
