PaliRoots, the brainchild of Palestinian-American Aminah Musa and Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna, have collaborated on a capsule collection in support of their homeland. Since its inception in 2016, PaliRoots has been committed to spreading awareness about Palestinian history, culture, and struggle through its products. Elyanna, on the other hand, has been doing her own bit to honor Arab culture. Earlier this year, the 21-year-old singer made history as the first singer to perform an entire set in Arabic at Coachella.
Now, the duo has come together to raise awareness and funds for the victims of Israeli attacks in Gaza. The heartfelt PaliRoots x Elyanna collaboration comes to life with a unique necklace. Collectively designed by Collectively designed with Feras, Shehzil Malik, and Elyanna, the ‘Albi Falastini’ necklace ( translating to “my heart is Palestinian”) features a chunky chain affixed with a red broken heart pendant and the word “Falastin” in Arabic.
The bandana features a similar broken heart motif wrapped in the traditional Palestinian Keffiyeh. The broken heart symbolizes the pain of parting and longing for one’s homeland – a feeling every Palestinian carries in their heart. This design beautifully captures the unbreakable bond of Palestinians to their heritage and homeland.
All of the proceeds from the sale of the necklaces will be donated to Middle East Children’s Alliance.
