Just in: Lanvin has decided on a new designer

One designer is out as another steps in
According to reports, changes are afoot at Lanvin. Here's what we know...

Lanvin has reportedly settled on a new designer to helm both its men’s and womenswear offering. It comes in the wake of Lucas Ossendrijver‘s departure from the brand’s menswear division after 13 years.

According to multiple industry reports, Bruno Sialelli, the former head of menswear at Loewe, is to be the new Creative Director of all of the house’s offerings.

It is understood that Ossendrijver’s final collection will be Resort 2019 and that the brand will not participate in the upcoming Men’s Paris Fashion Week in January.

Sialelli has been the most enduring rumoured name since Olivier Lapidus resigned in March of 2017, however according to Fashion Network, an official announcement cannot yet be made because “the negotiating with Loewe and LVMH the settlement of his non-compete clause which prevents him from working for a rival brand for some time.”

The hiring of Sialelli across men’s and women’s is likely designed to help stabilise the brand after a few rocky years since Alber Elbaz was let go in 2015 and Chinese investment company Fosun International brought the brand earlier this year.
